š The Surprising Energy of September: The strange encounter that changed my life
It all started with a strange encounter.
Picture this: it's Thanksgiving, and I'm knee-deep in mashed potatoes and family banter when something odd starts happeningā¦ everywhere I look, the number 11 appears. Like, ALL. THE. TIME. (Seriously, it was freaky!)
I check my phone, itās 11 minutes past the hour. Cashier #11 at Whole Foods. Hospital room #11 during my mastectomy. The crosswalk timer turns 11 just as I glance at it. Even the apartment I'd lived in for sixteen years is an 11; I'd simply never realized it.
It felt like the universe was sending a message. So, being the curious soul I am, it didn't take long before I fell down the rabbit hole of numerology.
Rooted in the ancient wisdom of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, Numerology is all about understanding the vibrational frequencies of numbers and how they influence life. Much like modern-day mathematicians, he believed numbers are the essence of all things. Honestly, I think he was onto something!
If you're new to this, numerology is about the idea that numbers aren't just numerical digits ā they're energetic vibrations that influence everything in the universe, including you and me.
So yeah, when it comes to numerology, we're talking about a system that's been around for thousands of years, backed by one of history's greatest minds. Pretty interesting, right?
Not too long ago, I was stuck. I had this burning desire to create a course that showed women how to liberate themselves from sexual shame and reclaim sensuality so previously limiting blocks to their deepest desires and manifestations were cleared.
Sounds exciting, right?
Well, let me tell you, the idea of actually doing it was absurdly overwhelming! There were a million moving parts to consider ā creating material, figuring out logistics, plus the sheer terror of putting myself out there, totally exposed.
Eventually my fear got so strong, I couldn't have a single thought about the course without a storm of "what ifsā raining down. What if I didnāt have all the answers? What if no one cares? What if I fail spectacularly and end up with an embarrassing flop?
Fear was holding me back until, one day, I realized I didn't need to have the entire path mapped out before I took the first step. I needed to trust myself enough to take that step; even if doing so felt terrifying.
When it comes to goals, dreams, and big moves in life, though it seems nice and safe to know precisely how you're crossing that elusive finish line, what truly moves you forward is letting go of certainty and taking just one step forward.
"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."ā Martin Luther King Jr.
Through numerology, I discovered I'm a Life Path 11, which felt like reading my life story. The purposes, challenges, and intense emotions all resonated with what Iād experienced my entire life.
With clients who are open to it, I find their Life Path number almost always aligns with their personality traits. It's like having a superpower ā a way to understand your soul on a deeper level.
But numerology isn't just about the microscopic view of individual personalities; it's also about the expanded view, such as the energy of each time of year. For example, this year, September is an 8 month in numerology (9 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 17 and 1 + 7 = 8), representing the energy of power, abundance, and getting things done.
Using ambition and drive to create abundance and influence? Uh, yeah ā 8 is a total powerhouse!
This means that NOW is the perfect time to step into your power and take a step toward making things you want, happen.
So, if you reflect and envision hopes for the future, this September is a time to get out there and show the world what you're made of. After all, for the rest of this month you've got an extra boost of strength, leadership prowess, and drive to turn dreams into realities.
Your decision to just start that darn thing already is one of the most powerful choices you ever make.
Action, even imperfect action, beats staying stuck in fear every single time.
For me, those first steps meant drawing up an outline of my course and asking friends for help. Along the way, those small steps helped me see the bigger picture unfolding and feel safer taking bigger steps.
Reality tends to be a lot less scary than the imagined unknown.
(Now the course is coming along smoothly, and when it's ready, I'm so excited for you to see it; it's so cool inside!)
The lesson of taking imperfect action applies to every part of life, especially intimate relationships.
Staying caught up in the "what ifs" can make it easy to feel stuck, especially when you're facing something big and overwhelming. You might keep putting off that first step, wondering if you have everything perfectly in place.
But the truth is, you donāt need to have it all figured out to make progress.
Whether it's leaving your job to start your own business, having that tough conversation youāve been avoiding, or launching a passion project that feels dauntingājust start where you are. Trust yourself, take the first step, and you might be amazed at how much momentum you build once you get going!
If you're unsure about your next step or feeling too overwhelmed to take action, donāt hesitate to seek support. Whether itās opening up to a trusted friend or scheduling a session with one of our talented, compassionate therapists, remember that you donāt have to do it aloneāthe world is ready to help you move toward your dreams.
To find your Life Path number, simply add the numbers in your birthday month, day, and year until they reach one single-digit number, or 11 or 22, which are called Master Numbers.
