Felicia Omrow, MCP-LP
About me
I grew up in a huge family, where I was the trusted confidant. I’ve always had a knack for helping people work through their emotions. This was uncommon in our household because of the cultural discrepancies between generations.
Growing up in an environment where therapy was stigmatized, I understand the power of a safe space – a place where you can be your authentic self without fear of judgment.
Being a first-generation American, I cherish the values and knowledge passed down from my culture, but I have come to believe that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to strength.
My Background and Approach
I attended Hofstra University, where I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. My academic journey provided me with a solid foundation in psychological theories, therapeutic modalities, and ethical practices, which I integrate seamlessly into my counseling approach.
In addition to my education, I have gained valuable experience working with individuals, couples, and diverse populations. My combined education and practical experience have strengthened my commitment to helping individuals lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can openly express their thoughts and feelings. My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based techniques with empathy, active listening, and a deep understanding of human psychology. With a strong background in psychology and counseling, I am equipped to tailor my interventions to each individual's unique needs and circumstances.
My Personal Belief and Interests
My goal is to empower clients to navigate life's challenges by developing effective coping strategies, enhancing their self-awareness, and fostering resilience. I am deeply passionate about destigmatizing mental health and promoting its importance in overall well-being. By collaboratively working with clients, I strive to facilitate positive changes that lead to lasting emotional healing and personal transformation.
