About Kayle

Kayle Koepke is the founder of Restore Renew Therapy. She leads a diverse team of therapists devoted to helping their clients move past their limitations and achieve their greatest potential. She has developed a unique group practice offering multiple approaches to helping clients improve their mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Her mission is to guide people in liberating themselves from the boxes they find themselves in, so they can enjoy satisfying and rewarding lives.

Kayle’s journey to becoming a mental health professional has its roots in an early desire to be helpful to her loved ones coupled with a fascination with psychology. Like many of her colleagues, she naturally played the “therapist” role with her family and friends, grounded by an intuitive understanding of people and their needs, and a natural ability to listen.

Her early professional experiences were also guided by religious faith. Kayle’s first work in the field after college took place in a tough neighborhood in the south side of Chicago, where she developed after school programs for kids and families. At the time, she was an evangelical Christian, and this work was her mission. After attaining her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, she relocated to Harlem, where she offered low-cost counseling to kids and adults through the church.

Over the course of the next 10 years, Kayle grew to understand that the religious framework in which she was working was too restrictive. Many of the clients she saw, particularly women, were dealing with anxiety and issues around their self-worth. She realized there was a connection to issues around their bodies, sexuality and sexual trauma, and the church-based approach completely stifled any exploration of this connection. She understood that people need to feel comfortable with themselves and their ability to experience physical pleasure in order to truly achieve healing in body, mind, and spirit. If she was going to be able to actually help her clients, she needed to leave the church and get more training. 

In 2015, Kayle launched her private practice, where she worked with individuals and couples, many of whom presented issues around healthy sexuality. She continued to explore the holistic connection between sexuality and emotional and mental health, and in 2019, she discovered the work of Layla Martin, whose Tantra-based approach to sex, love, and relationships is a powerful tool in healing sexual trauma and creating a healthier connection to sexuality in general. Within the year, she began training interns, and by 2021, she had a full staff of eight practitioners, and had sharpened her focus on sex therapy as a tool for whole self healing and relationship coaching. 

Kayle’s approach to healing is based on developing a healthy relationship to our bodies and ourselves as sensual beings. She helps her clients develop a well-rounded relationship to sexuality and pleasure as a path to personal empowerment. To that end, she has developed several classes, including Sacred Sensuality, a deep dive into sexuality and its central role in our mental, emotional, and spiritual health; Embodied Arcana, which explores personal transformation through embodying the archetypes of the major Arcana in Tarot, and a related mini-course, The Embodied Empress which she offers to clients, as well as to staff as training material. 

Kayle’s world view is shaped by her own, intimate understanding of the possibilities of growing past the identities and circumstances we inherit, and embodying the possibilities of our own choosing. She understands the power of moving through traumas and unhealthy emotional patterns as a road to experiencing transformation. Her personal journey has been a template for liberation, one which she shares with passion and empathy, as she continues to challenge herself, her staff, and her clients, to live life to its fullest.
